The conversation started out like this…
Husband: I’m running to Walmart
Me: While you’re there can you pick up some pregnancy tests? I just had a positive result with a 2 year old expired test and there is no way this could be correct!
Husband: I can’t, I also have to buy bullets, what will they think?
Me: It’s Walmart! They’ve seen stranger combinations.
The picture my husband took with his iPhone from the checkout line is priceless and one I will save forever. Well there you have it, I’ve been keeping this secret since the end of January and today I’m so relieved and excited to share our news with you.

From our hearts to yours, we are pleased to announce that somewhere on or around October 1, 2012 we will be having another baby. Nobody is more excited than big brother-to-be Nathan. This pregnancy is quite a surprise since it’s been over 6 years since we had our son. At my age I was starting to think I was experiencing early menopause symptoms not a pregnancy!
Recently we just resolved ourselves to the fact our family of three was how it was going to be, not a problem. I’m an only child and know many people who are only children or have only children and we’ve all turned out just fine. I had also just signed up to sell all of my baby gear at a local consignment sale, then one week later…surprise! Wow, just when you think your life is going one way God steps in and shows you who’s really in charge, right?
I’m happy to report that today I am 15 weeks along and having a completely normal and healthy pregnancy, just like my first one. We also already know what we’re having, would you like to take a guess? I’m one of the lucky ones who never gets morning sickness or extreme fatigue, I actually don’t really feel preggers at all. Well.. except for the fact my clothes are too tight and I’m sporting some major cleavage:) It’s the stage where you really don’t look like you’re expecting, you just look fat.
The cute shirt Nathan is wearing in the picture above he wore when we announced the news to both sets of grandparents. Nathan gave them each a framed sonogram picture with the due date, it was so much fun to watch their reactions.
Did you guess it? I wish I could post the picture where the baby was standing on his head with his legs spread wide open. Hard to believe you can tell the sex of a baby at just 12 weeks these days. Stay tuned for more growing belly pictures over the next several months and also pics from the nursery design. The airplane fabric I am using for the crib bedding and the nursery theme is what I used for the background pic above. I just adore it! It was big brother Nathan’s idea to decorate the baby’s room with airplanes, how could I resist?
I feel so much better now that the cat is out of the bag! I just hate keeping secrets.
